Tense agreement
Give me a line quietly, you tell me
from the dark side of the pronouns
the verbs are past tense and passe
choose with whom and in what case
you'll make our tense agreement
and change over
(for a one night stand)
the nouns and the adverbs
according to number and gender
make sure you don't turn off coming on to you
first dehydrated person singular, but
you can get personal if you wish in someone else's name
so that we can make a royal We-sadly
running away from it
in the more formal sense ot fhe word.
In poems symbols hum along wise and passionate
desiringone after another
- promiscuity of ideas -
meta-fireworks are in no sense senseless
the lines are subtle emotional coming together
imaginations
You can't be satisfied
traveling along well-worn directions
you want to say nostalgia
just make sure it isn't a clishe:
a fatherly pain, for one
sex is nostalgia
for the native land (and you're born when you come)
with the hot and wet climate inside you
reacting to the touch, drizzling
your head limp, regularly and irregularly
I'm not always in the I-form
I is; you am; he are...
